HLSL Shader Support
TV3D boasts full HLSL shader support, including real-time preview of your shader effects in the ModelView tool. Complex
effects can be achieved in minutes by using HLSL shaders available on the net, or you can write your own for new, custom effects!
Integrated Shader Effects
Many effects are integrated directly into the engine, including bumpmapping, offset bumpmapping, depth of field,
glow, water reflection and refraction, velocity based motion blur and more. In total, there are currently over
700 internal shaders that handle all of the various effects in the engine.
Advanced 3D Normalmapping
Built-in normal mapping allows you to display very complex models with very few polygons!
The included ModelView tool makes creating a normal map easy, and can be quickly integrated into your art pipeline.
Animation Blending
With the ability to blend animations your artists can concentrate on individual actions, and allow the application
to blend them together. This gives you many more possible combinations for your actors with much less work for your
animators!
Morph Targets
Morph targets allow for model morphing and deformation animations without the use of a skeleton. Combined with
morph blending, you can create facial expressions and lip-sync'ing characters, or animate your entire character using
this technique! Everything you need is built into the engine.
Integrated Physics
TV3D boasts built-in physics powered by Newton Game Dynamics, complete with joints, interaction materials, events, ragdoll, and
vehicle support. With the ability to control the precision of the solver, choose the fricton model, and set your own
time-steps you have full control of the physics simulation.
Art Content Pipeline Plugins
Plug-ins available for 3D Studio Max, Maya, and Milkshape allowing your artists to export static and animated
models directly into the native format used by the SDK. There is also a command line conversion utility to convert
older model formats, without the need for the modelling application.
3D Content Tools
The TV3D SDK includes mutliple official tools to increase your productivity. The tools include ModelView, ParticleEditor,
PackageBuilder, SFxE, a 3DS model conversion utility, and multiple 3D modelling plugins for your artists. More tools are
also available in the TV3D Resources Library.
